Aurochs
Aurochs is the European bison, or primal ox, hunted to extinction in Mozart's day, but not before he sired whole herds and gave humanity his domesticated and selectively bred offspring that we have given the names of Guernsey, Holstein, Longhorn, and all their cousins.

The reverse displays a brick wall, commemorating the Designer's entry into the masonry trade. As always, the legend and numerals are in West World typeface by the Designer. The disk at upper right serves as footing for the VVA logo handstruck on the obverse.

Design by Victor Vincente of America. Hand engraved directly in the steel die, the Aurochs represents the Designer's first attempt at engraving, and was accomplished after three practice pieces. All 2D engraving by Delta Engravers, Van Nuys, CA.

Struck by Forbes Stampings, Valencia, CA.
