1994 Olympic Commemorative The revers design is based on the style of the ancient Chinese bronze coin (readily available in 1964 Tokyo) often used today in throwing the I Ching. The ideograms, developed with the aid and collaboration of a young Asuan women and her grandmother, are hopefully authentic enough to be understood by those versed in this graphic art. They would read "Sa D'k" and would convey the concept of "Right to Suicide", not as an endorsement of, or goading to, this action, but rather to encourage the individual's retention of innate rights over all aspects of one's life and death, and to not surrender to intimidating laws which would repress or stifle one's freedom, even if it be to swoop down a mountain road at dangerous speed, close to death. Design by Victor Vincente of America. 2D engraving by Delta Engravers, Van Nuys, CA. Struck by Bloomer's Metal Stampings, Valencia, CA. Quantity: Price: $3 |
