The first thing to remember is to wear the right clothes. Padded shorts and/or tights are a good option, and if you are going to be riding in hot weather, it is best to look for something that absorbs a lot of sweat. Another thing that goes with your clothes is to wear socks. The right footwear will make things a lot easier for you, especially when you are riding for a long time because it can prevent fatigue and muscle soreness. It is also wise to carry paper towels or toilet paper because they are highly useful in for several purposes, especially if you have had a minor accident or bleeding. Carrying your ID with you is necessary, in case something goes wrong and you have to show who you are. Apart from clothes, other things that you need to carry are a hydration pack which will prevent dehydration, electrolyte pills, a first aid kit, a pump, and tube as well as waterproof gloves.
